The snow had just about disappeared, bitterly cold but the warmth and hospitality inside made for a fantastic day! Berengere sang a surprise song, "The look of love ...." to Philip, who ever said romance had died!

Set back from the tree-lined lanes of Kent, the manor house at Chilston Park is a unique Grade 1 listed property. Over the years, it has been a home to eminent politicians, writers, Lords and Viscounts. Today it is a luxury hotel, just as you would imagine, set within 22 acres of rural parkland in the heart of the Garden of England.
But perhaps the most remarkable aspect of this luxury 4 star hotel is the antiques and history that surround it. It has many interesting artefacts that date as far back as the 17th century manor house. Many of the 53 bedrooms feature original fireplaces, four-poster beds and antiquities.

There cannot be many hotels offering so much, style, elegance and with the truly professional staff on hand at all times, everything went like clockwork! A fantastic backdrop to work with although not without its challenges at times but the end results were simply wonderful.

The evenings events took place at the Bush Hall in Shepherds Bush. A venue renowed for live gigs and events this restored Edwardian music hall really rocked that night! Two bands a DJ and a special surprise rendition of the Flower Duet for Rebecca produced more than goosebumps for all!

I am very fortunate that as a photographer it allows me to be part of some very special moments, Weddings, Portraits, Bump, Newborn and Baby shoots. Magical moments where you are asked to document and record events that will be viewed for years and even generations to come! Quite a humbling thought really!

Imagine how I felt when my daughter Lauren asked me to photograph her bump! I was not too sure how I would feel photographing someone you love so dearly in a photo session of such an intimate nature. However, we loved the experience! There was a time when I had to ask her partner Carl to leave the room as we were in fits of laughter as I think some comments were made about my own stomach and him asking how far gone I was!

Here are a few images from a couple of shoots, October 2009 and this last weekend! I think they tell their own story.

Needless to say when I showed them to my daughter Lauren and Carl a few tears were shed. We all loved the results. I still do not know if my first grandchild is to be a boy or a girl but what I do know is that I will be doing a lot of Newborn photography in the weeks and months to come!

Amanda and Malcolm were married on January 2nd and the day could not have been better and what a way to open the wedding season. The ceremony finished with 20 minutes of fading light for the bridal party to have their photographs taken outside the castle. The cosy glow of lights and open fires worked their magic and we were soon back inside and Amanda and Malcolm were able to join their guests again.

The weather was freezing outside but inside, log fires, side lights, candles and Christmas trees and decorations decked the halls and rooms which created a warm, snug and very romantic atmosphere. The wedding breakfast held in the Henry VIII banqueting hall, the castle still with its Christmas fairytale theme helped us to get some unique wedding photographs!

The evenings entertainment was headlined by the Hat Pack and they even got my feet tapping, great performers!

The lucky wedded couple are now enjoying their honeymoon in much warmer climes!!

The event was held in the crypt of the Guildhall and the initial reception was a themed "Christkindelmarkt", with Gluhwein to warm the spirits! The events were accompanied by an Oompah band which helped keep the "souls' tapping. A great occasion and a great start to the run up to Christmas. The atmosphere was magical.

Shot on and around St Mary's Island, Chatham, Kent. The development changes around the historic dockyard made some great backdrops for this shoot. It was chilly, it was wet but we all had a good laugh right through to the end when the heavens decided to open!

All in a days work... loved it, thank you Amanda and Andrew.

I want to thank the models for their help and patience in the freezing cold. We all had a great day, fish and chips lunch and we ended up at the beautiful wedding venue, Westernhanger Castle in Kent. We started shooting in the medieval barn but the light, or lack of it, finally got the better of us!

Thank you all again for those involved and for Westenhanger Castle for giving us lashings of coffee and tea to warm us all up!

I am currently working on a couple of new product lines for brides and grooms for pre and post wedding shoots! I have had an incredible Summer with fantastic weddings, great locations and more importantly wonderful couples. The first wedding of the new year starts in the first days of January in the beautiful and romantic setting of Leeds Castle in Kent.

For those of you in East Anglia, make a date to come and see me at the Royal Norfolk Showground on the 20th and 21st February for "The Perfect Day Wedding Show".

The evening ended for me with a sea fog shrouding the seafront but before the evenings end Aaron's band Symbo gave a surprise gig for the 150 guests who had come from near and far! For the romantic shots we strolled onto the beach much to the sunbathers entertainment and wonder.  We managed to catch the last of the days sun before it set, an ideal location and something to remember from a terrific day!

A reception very much different from anything I have ever seen before! A fantastic atmosphere inside and out. The garden decked with lights, fire braziers for the chilly evening and a cool jazz band playing music in the garden and the late Summer sun - a perfect combination and a wedding no one is going to forget! Zoe and Paul, a super couple, they deserved the perfect day and they got it!
