What preparations do you make before the wedding?

Some 4 to 6 weeks before your wedding we will meet for a consultation. This will ideally be at your wedding venue to discuss the timeline of your day, any formal photography you require, basically everything through to the names of the main bridal party and colour of your bouquet!

I shoot with two professional Canon cameras and lenses and always have a further back up for any emergencies.

Do you want a meal on the day?

Not a meal but a plate of sandwiches and some refreshing drinks please. Please ask the caters to serve these when you have your first course and this will enable me to have a break and be ready for your speeches.

Do you take couple shots?

Yes I certainly do. It's a fundamental part of your dream day and one you will want to have photographs of to treasure. I love to take the couple away from their guests for a short while to create some "Romantic" images. I try to use the surrounding environment, both inside and in the grounds of your venue to capture some special moments between the both of you. This is the first time since saying "I Do" that you would have been alone so, take a breath and a glass of champagne and let me photograph the brand new Mr & Mrs!

How much time do you spend on the couple shots?

Every wedding is an individual experience; it depends on your particular importance on these images. Some couples like to be taken away for an hour or so, others typically around 45 minuets. I recognise that sharing your day with your guests is important and your romantic images can be broken down to say 15 minuet slots so you are never away from your guests for long!

Building in the timing for "photographs" is an important part of the planning process. Some venues may suggest giving an hour an a half from end of ceremony to sit down for the wedding breakfast. Consider that group photographs can take anything up to 20 to thirty minuets, you will want to spend time with your guests and to slip away for your "Romantic" shots . This does not leave a great deal of time to create the images you have dreamed of! Often getting around in your fabulous dress can take time and the grounds extensive so just getting from A to B needs to be considered! Please discuss your photography ideas with me before the final timings with the venue, it could make all the difference!

I'm a little camera shy!

Very few of us are used to posing in front of a camera and comfortable with it. I want to capture you both, just as you are and therefore I will not ask you to pose, it just is not my style! I merely direct to achieve the very best of results!

Right, how do we book you?

In order to secure your wedding date you will need to complete a wedding booking form, which I will provide you, and pay the booking fee of £350 by either, cheque, credit or debit card or internet bank transfer!

Engagement Shoots

These are a great idea as part of your chosen Wedding Collection or an an upgrade. It can dispel any fear of having your photo taken professionally! In order to get those stunning images it is best if you relax - this is a great way to do just that. It's great fun, trust me, I'm a photographer! Book an Engagement Shoot and dispel any fears!

How would you best describe your style of photography?

There are a number of ways to describe my style, wedding photojournalism, reportage wedding photography or documentary wedding photography.  Personally I would describe myself as
a people photographer and my own particular style can be best described as "contemporary, romantic documentary". I prefer to shoot from blending in to the background, letting the day develop and using my knowledge and expertise to be in the right place at the right time. I do not direct and set up shots, the day develops and I document your wedding, telling your story!

As far as portraits the term Lifestyle is used as I do not work from a studio, preferring the surrounding environment and natural light. Natural relaxed images, photographing the real you!

Who owns the copyright of images?

The copyright of images always remains with the photographer, but I license with any disk of images the right to produce the images in any way you wish. For example on Facebook, give to family and friends etc. The only thing you cannot do with the images is use them for re-sale.

How long have you been a professional photographer ?

I have been taking photographs professionally for over 8 years, and 5 years as a dedicated professional wedding photographer. By the end of 2012 I would have photographed more than 120 weddings.

What about Formal and Group shots, do you take these?

I fully appreciate that there are some more traditional image requirements and I am very happy to cater for these. Providing the groups are not too large I would advise no more than 5 to 8 group shots. They can be very time consuming and possibly a lot of waiting for those guests not involved. This time can also eat into "your image" time too. Always worth having this in mind when building up the schedule.

Do you work with a second photographer?

In order to secure an unobtrusive documentary approach to your day I prefer to work alone. A second photographer can sometimes disrupt the natural balance of events with guests becoming more aware that there is a camera pointing in their direction. Once this happens the moment is often lost as guests tend to react differently as it could begin to feel like a "paparazzi" frenzy!

Saying that I do offer a second photographer if required as there are times when perhaps the groom would like preparation shots or you may wish to disappear for sometime for your "romantic' shots  and you want to capture images of your guests enjoying the champagne and canapes. Every wedding is different and I aim to meet your needs!

How long after the wedding do we see the images?

Usually all your images are ready to view in your private password protected online gallery some 3 to 4 weeks after your day. When they are ready I will send you an email with your password, sometimes this even happens when you are on your honeymoon!

How many images do we get to see?

Typically I aim to produce around 400 images in total. With regards to albums the collections range from 60 to 120 images for each. I recommend no more than 130 in any one album.

Are there any hidden charges?

Categorically no! All prices shown are inclusive of all costs. The only extra are upgrades or additional images you may wish to make after your wedding. I have been told countless times that I make the decision difficult as there are so many wonderful images to choose from!

Are you insured?

Very much so. As a full time, professional photographer I am fully insured for both public and professional indemnity.

How far do you travel?

If a wedding is generally more than 1.5 hours I usually book myself into a hotel the night before, therefore ensuring I am with you in good time and fresh!

I travel all over the UK and to international destinations for shoots and weddings. When it comes to UK weddings all prices are fully inclusive of any hotel and travel costs.

If there is any international travel this is arranged by mutual consent.
