Timechanges many things, but a photograph is an indelible reflection of moments within time.
I create portraits to evoke emotion and which are intended to reignite memories forever. Often the idea of a portrait only comes into play at key stages of our lives such as engagements or births but they can be a unique and contemporary way of documenting you and your family's life.
A portrait session can be highly personalised, for example if you are a keen horse rider why not be share the experience with your horse or indeed any much loved hobby.
The best portraits are those where you see the personality through the smiles, this canonly be achieved if the person is relaxed. This is why I shoot solely on location using only natural light. I help my clients choose environments wherethey feel at ease; this could be at home, the countryside, the city or even a favorite beach. When people are on familiar ground they are instinctively more relaxed and this emanates from the photography.
It's not only essential to feel comfortable with your photographer but also to have the confidence that they know what you want from your photographs. I always spend time with my clients to ensure I have this understanding before we start, and because most people don't find themselves in front of the lens very often this relaxed relationship makes the process an enjoyable one.
